Qur'anLessons
The first lesson to be learned by all islamic students is about the importance of the Holy Qur’an. The Qur’an is the Book of Allah subhaanahu wa ta‘aalaa. Every word in the Qur’an has come from Allah. That is why the believers of Islam consider it an holy Book. They also learn that the words in the Qur’an were sent by Allah to Prophet Muhammad sallal-laahu ‘alayhi wa-aalihi wa sallam. The Prophet received the words of Allah through angel Jibra’eel. The Qur’an is a Holy Book that was not written by anyone but sent by Allah to Prophet Muhammad through Jibra’eel. In Iran there are the majority of the koranic schools in the Islam world. Qom is the most holy city of the Islamic republic of Iran and known as the center of Islamic studies around the globe. Qom's importance as a centre for the study of Shi'a Islam has been on the rise since the 1979 Islamic revolution and the establishment of an Islamic state. The dusty desert city south of Tehran has developed considerably in political importance as well as in terms of a growing student population. Its main theological establishment, the Houze-ye 'elmiye (Shi'a Islamic seminaries), has been transformed from an oppositional focal point to an important resource for government and state bureaucracy.
